Confirmation
What is it?
Confirmation is for those who have been baptised and have reached the point in their Christian journey where they want to affirm for themselves their faith and their intention to live as responsible and committed followers of Jesus Christ. Through prayer and the laying on of hands by the confirming bishop, the Church also asks God to give them power through the Holy Spirit to enable them to live in this way. Confirmation services are held once a year - usually in November, and are on rotation to be held in different churches within the deanery. Candidates need to be a minimum of 10 years old.
